Pop – Up Choir at Kilkee Festival Sept. 2019

What a brilliant time I had at the annual Che do Bheatha Festival in Kilkee last weekend! My first visit and so many lovely people to meet! About 25 singers turned up to learn some 4 part harmony songs which we then performed on stage to a wonderfully appreciative audience – who I also got to join in!! Hope to return again some time soon!

Two Music Workshops for Beara Arts Festival August 2019

What I really love about the summer is the opportunities I get to bring my music out into different locations…and especially those on the coast! I just love being by the sea!

On Saturday 10th August I am returning to Castletownbere, and this time bring my Family Music Workshop along with a Harmony Singing one. Both of the workshops will take place in Castletownbere Library and are FREE! You can book your places by email at: castletownberelibrary@corkcoco.ie or by phone to: 027 70233.

The Family Music Workshop will be held from 2-3pm and is for parents and children aged between 4-10 years. This is a fun opportunity to build confidence and learn musical skills together. All children must be accompanied by an adult, and all adults are expected to join in!!

The Harmony Singing Workshop will run from 4.30-6pm and is for all adults and youth who love to sing! We will learn a varied selection of harmony-filled songs, all taught with a ‘call and response’ approach, so no previous experience or music reading skills are needed to join in.

Music Workshops in Youghal July 2019

On Wednesday 24th July, I’ll be bringing two Music Workshops into the community of Youghal. This will be my first visit with my music and I’m really excited about meeting new people to share with.

From 1-2pm there will be a Family Music Workshop held in the Methodist Hall on Friar Street. This workshop is aimed at parents and children between 4-10 years old, and is designed as a fun learning opportunity for building confidence and developing musical skills together. All children must be accompanied by an adult, and all adults are expected to join in with the activities! An entrance fee of E5 per person is being asked to help cover expenses.

From 4-6pm, I’ll be leading a Harmony Singing Workshop in Celtic Folk Song. This is part of the programme organised by the Youghal Creative Cultural Pop Up Shop running from 114, North Main Street over the months of July and August. Adults and young people who love to sing are welcome to come along and enjoy learning these harmony-filled songs in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. No previous experience or ability to read music is needed as I teach with a ‘call and response’ approach, making it easy for everyone to join in. This workshop is free of charge.
