Mairead Kelly: Cork Guest Musician Summer ’26

I’m excited to announce that we will be joined by Cork based harpist, Mairead Kelly. Mairead is an Irish lever harpist based in Cork City.
Growing up in Belfast, Mairead was rooted in the Irish dancing tradition and tin whistle. She came late to the harp, picking it up in her mid twenties…’pure notions’. That first harp was stolen, which led to a love story and a stolen heart with harper and musician Charlie/Odin. As husband and wife, Mairead and Charlie played summer seasons in castles, and toured folk circuits accross Brittany and Ireland. Mairead played with singer songwriter Annette Buckley, and performed many ‘magic nights in the Lobby bar’, Cork. She co wrote the song ‘Into your arms’ which features on Annette’s highly acclaimed album Ever Changing Colours of the Sea. She also played with the duo Chunky Planet, and Linda and Carl Plover, blending folk and Improvisation into their original material.
Mairead’s journey with the harp has been diverse.
She loves to sing, and is very excited to embark on this project with the Creative Voice Project, and is very much looking forward to seeing what she can bring into the group.
