Songwriting Hub

Creating new songs and arrangements for sharing music is perhaps my favourite aspect of collaborative music exploration. In past years I have written songs for many of the bands and choirs I have been working and performing with, and now include this as a collaborative and creative activity within some of my groups. I run a monthly Songwriting Circle in Ballydehob on the first Sunday of every month, and also offer one-off workshops and coaching packages for individuals and groups.

Composition Workshops can be designed with many focus points and desired outcomes to include:

• Sharing ideas, support with existing work, and for the creation of new composition
• The demystifying of song-writing, and the processes involved in the creation of a piece of music
• Team building activities
• Supporting a greater awareness of collaboration, and how the different roles in music work towards bringing together a collective sound
• Useful tools and tips for composition and creating arrangements
• As a means for self expression, and collecting a group perspective
• To create a unifying piece of work for representation of a specific topic, environment or event
