Really looking forward to this special day of bringing some of my Inclusive Music Projects to meet Heir Island, just a stones throw off the shores of West Cork.
Following a few months break from the Songwriting Circle due to surgery and a period of recovery, I decided to bring the session out for a Summer Special. And well, then the Ballydehob Community Band also wanted to come….so I decided to run a whole day in which to enjoy the magic of music and Heir island.
The Songwriting Workshop will be at a beautiful private home, with sweeping garden and small private sandy beach….you may want to bring your swimming togs! A special ferry has been laid on for this, and you will need to book by Thursday 2nd July to confirm your place. The cost of this is E25 which covers your ferry onto the island, or E20 if you don’t need a ride. It’s a beautiful 15 minute walk, and a car will be available if you are in need of assistance. Bring a packed lunch….we will supply some hot drinks.
We will be gathering at The Boat House for 3pm. Some of you may have already experienced the combination of my Singing Workshops alongside the Ballydehob Community Band as we’ve ran a few of these at the Outback of Levis Bar in Ballydehob, as part of the Jazz Festival, and also the Mental Health Month activities with the Feelgood Festival. You get to learn a few harmonies and sing with a whole big band sound behind you….such great fun. No previous experience of singing needed. The cost for this workshop is E10.
Bring your voices, your instruments and songs and join in with a Music Session to follow the workshop….or just come along to enjoy and listen. There will be a collection for Lisheens House Suicide Awareness if you would like to donate to this local cause. There’s no shops or bar here, so be sure to bring your own food and drinks to keep you going.
If you’d like to book yourself a place, send me an email to: cazjeffreys@gmail.com and I’ll forward you the payment details.
