Training day in Limerick

Wonderful day for meeting and leading this group of individuals, all who were enthusiastic about developing their skills for leading and working with groups in song. Some were already leading small community choirs and others simply wanting to feel closer to understanding how to work in this way.

We explored the possible contexts for further training days to support their work and in the idea of getting together with the West Cork group which I recently led. Great to feel that a new network is emerging.

The next training day will be lined up to take place in Cork City…all being well just before we are in the full swing of summer.

Choir Exchange

Another great day bringing these two Choirs together for sharing and exploring songs. What a hoot as we practice the art of body percussion to one of the songs we are preparing for the next West Cork BIG SING! event in Clonakilty this coming May. As usual we all brought a fantastic spread of food to share for a our lunch!Looking forwards to the next one which will probably be in the Autumn now.

Delighted to have led a session with this gorgeous group of girls for the Convent School, learning a couple of the BIG SING! collection of songs ready for this coming Saturday 7th May at Clonaklty Wellness Week. They were amazing! Looking forwards to singing some more with them soon!

Opportunities to learn the BIG SING! song collection before the event

Singing workshops are now lined up under way with the National Learning Network’s drumming group, the COPE Foundation and Co Action groups and the secondary schools in Clonakilty. This BIG SING! event is set to be even more exciting with the inclusion of drummers and the Happiness Ensemble – a Clonakilty based ‘open’ community music group.

There are many sessions which are open for people to come along and learn some of the songs. Below are the sessions booked to date…come along and meet us!!
