Community Choir Day 2019

In November 2018 Caz Jeffreys and Jane Goss (West Cork based Community Choir leader) collaborated to bring Craig Lees over from the UK for a Choir Day event in The Celtic Ross Hotel, Rosscarbery, West Cork. The day was a big success with all tickets sold out and has now become an annual event.

You can see a short video of the event here:

COMMUNITY CHOIR DAY 2019

Community Choir Day 2019 will be held on Saturday 2nd November at the beautiful location of Inchydoney Island Hotel near Clonakilty in West Cork.  We are delighted to be welcoming Ciaran Kelly and Vicky Warwick from Irelands’ leading acapella group, Ardu to facilitate at the event. The morning will consist of an enjoyable learning experience whilst the afternoon is a chance for choirs to share some of their songs.

Choir Day 2019(2)

Ardu’s professional singers will be leading the songs, introducing fun warmups, followed by vocal technique and expression- all delivered through the structure of some fabulous arrangements with a dynamic approach.
Whilst Ciaran will lead from the keyboard , they will incorporate some elements of their specialist skill- the art of Acapella – and engage us all with captivating vocal textures and harmonies.

Lunch. A limited amount of tickets are available which include lunch (soup, salad and sandwiches), or if you prefer to take a trip into Clonakilty (only 10 minutes drive) there are a selection of eating houses to choose from. There will also be a limited amount of space downstairs from the bar menu. We will take 1 1/2 hours break for lunch to ensure everyone has plenty of time.

Parents and Childrens Singing and Music Group in Glengarriff Autumn 2018

This group was something of an experiment for me. A few local singers had said to me that they would love an opportunity to do something together with their children and that a combined singing group would be great fun. So we gave it a go and ran it between September-November from the Eccles Hotel, Glengarriff. I have to say it was a really lovely group and a great thing to do. We hope to start the group up again after the Easter holidays 2019. Get in touch if you’d like to be a part of it!

Choir Day with Craig Lees November 2018

Nice teaching shotWhat a fantastic day we had at our Choir day at the Celtic Ross Hotel in Rosscarbery last weekend, with members from many choirs around West Cork and Cork as well as enthusiastic individuals keen to join us for the day. Craig lead us for the morning, teaching us some wonderful 4 – part harmony contemporary songs and charmed us all with his interesting, warm and accessible approach. Following a buffet lunch, we learned a new song taught by Caz and then enjoyed listening to choirs sharing some of their songs, before closing in song together lead by Jane Goss.Us 4 close up

We are planning to make this an annual event at around the same time each year…..so put it in your diary, tell your choirs and singing friends and sign up to the E-Newsletter at the top of the page to keep notified of coming events.
